Aescin (CAS 6805-41-0) is a cosmetic-grade pentacyclic triterpenoid saponin manufactured directly by Shaanxi Yuantai Biological Technology Co., Ltd. (YTBIO), extracted from the dried seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum). Insoluble in water but soluble in methanol and ethanol, it is valued in skincare for promoting collagen synthesis and skin repair, moisturizing, anti-aging and anti-wrinkle effects, improving circulation around the eyes, and reducing vascular permeability to counter tissue edema, and is commonly used in eye creams and other skincare cosmetics.
