Chymotrypsinogen (CAS 9035-75-0), the inactive precursor of chymotrypsin sourced from bovine or porcine pancreas, has a molecular mass of about 24,000 and an optimum pH of 8-9, remaining stable in dry form but most stable in aqueous solution at pH 3-4. Beijing Geyuantianrun Bio-Tech purifies it by recrystallization, ion exchange chromatography and ultrafiltration to high purity, and it is used clinically in wound-healing, anti-inflammatory and cataract-surgery applications as well as in veterinary medicine.
