Flow-UV is an affordable, easy-to-use inline UV-Vis spectrometer for flow chemistry, featuring a pulsed xenon source spanning 220-1050nm (with a near-IR option) and a UV-enhanced 3648-pixel CCD array. A high-pressure inline flow cell connected via fibre-optic wave guides can be positioned almost anywhere along the flow path, incorporates PFA reactor tubing for convenience, and tracks absorbance across five user-selected wavelengths. Compact at 18 x 18 x 17cm with no moving parts, it fits easily into crowded fume cupboards, requires no calibration or routine servicing, and its xenon flash lamp source can last up to ten years in normal use, unlike conventional deuterium lamps.
