The SpinChem Rotating Bed Reactor holds the solid phase as a fixed packed bed inside a rotating cylinder. Rotation drives a continuous circulating flow: reaction liquid is drawn from the bottom of the vessel, passed through the packed solid phase, and returned to the vessel in a repeating cycle. The reactor and vessel geometry are engineered to maximize axial mixing and convective transport, which drives efficient mass transfer, shortens reaction time and raises yield. These benefits carry over to immiscible liquids, liquids of differing viscosity, and reactions that require even distribution of dissolved gases.
