He later completed his Master of Science in Biotechnology at Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh, expanding his expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and infectious disease research. His academic training prepared him to address complex biological challenges, particularly those related to microbial pathogenesis and drug resistance.
His early research experience includes work at CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), India, where he focused on biopolymers and nanomaterials, cultivating his interest in sustainable functional materials. In October 2023, he conducted research at Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan, investigating peptide-based strategies to prevent biofilm formation. His work involved solid-phase peptide synthesis and antimicrobial evaluation, reinforcing his focus on alternative therapeutic strategies against drug-resistant pathogens.
He has also contributed to in silico drug discovery research as a Research Assistant at the Drug Chemistry Research Center, India, applying molecular docking and bioinformatics tools to identify potential therapeutic candidates. His scholarly contributions include review articles on the therapeutic potential of Moringa oleifera, advancements in PROTAC technology, and a Springer book chapter on antibiotic-producing fungi.
Dutta’s technical expertise spans antimicrobial screening, peptide synthesis, polymer composite fabrication, and molecular modeling using tools such as AutoDock, PyMOL, Cytoscape, and SwissModel. His research vision is focused on developing next-generation antimicrobial materials and biomaterial-based strategies to mitigate antimicrobial resistance and improve infection management in clinical settings.
