Dr. Rohini Sudhakar Chavan is an Indian zoologist and educator specializing in Animal Physiology, Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Toxicology, and Environmental Biology. She completed her M.Sc. in Zoology with distinction, securing First Rank at the university level and receiving several prestigious awards, including the Dr. S.L. Rao Gold Medal and Dr. Ashok Lakshman Lohgaonkar Gold Medal. She earned her Ph.D. in Zoology from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, focusing on fisheries science and aquatic toxicology. Dr. Chavan has over four years of college-level teaching experience and extensive experience in the private sector. Her research interests include fish physiology, aquatic toxicology, pisciculture, biodiversity conservation, sustainable aquaculture, environmental pollution, climate change, and food security. She has published research papers and book chapters on topics such as the effects of heavy metals on fish health, sustainable fisheries, freshwater biodiversity conservation, and the role of aquaculture in achieving sustainable development goals. An active participant in national and international conferences, Dr. Chavan has presented numerous research papers and received awards at research festivals, including the “Avishkar” Research Festival. Her work aims to contribute to sustainable fisheries management, environmental conservation, and the advancement of zoological sciences through interdisciplinary research and academic excellence.
