Microbiology Testing

INEZA Patrick is a motivated researcher and biotechnology professional from Rwanda, with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in laboratory operations, pharmaceutical representation, and advanced research programs. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Biotechnology from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology, after excelling in science subjects during his secondary education at College St. Andre and EAV Mayaga. Patrick’s career reflects a blend of scientific rigor and practical application. He currently serves as a Microbiology Testing Officer at the Rwanda Food and Drug Authority, where he contributes to ensuring the safety and quality of pharmaceutical and food products. Previously, he worked as a Medical Representative at Abacus Pharma (A) Ltd., where he developed skills in customer engagement and business development. His research and training background is distinguished by international exposure. In 2019, Patrick participated in the prestigious Kyoto University AMGEN Scholars Program in Japan and Singapore, conducting research on antiviral proteins regulating LINE-1 elements and exploring next-generation biotechnology in drug production. He has also been trained in SARS-CoV-2 sequencing through ACEGID and Africa CDC, mastering both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms alongside bioinformatics tools. His certifications include SARS-CoV-2 sequencing and bioinformatics, EMBL-EBI Gene Browser, environmental awareness, and participation in the Asia Africa International Model United Nations Conference. Beyond his professional roles, Patrick has demonstrated leadership as Vice President of the Rwanda Biotechnology Student Network, fostering research culture and collaboration among young scientists. He is multilingual, fluent in Kinyarwanda, English, and Swahili, with working knowledge of French. His interests span bioinformatics, translation, psychology, and creative pursuits such as video and audio editing. Patrick embodies innovation, teamwork, and a passion for life-saving technologies. His trajectory reflects a commitment to advancing biotechnology and public health in Rwanda and beyond.
