Mothobi Godfrey Keele is a consummate professional who has held roles in the United Nations System, as a regulator, academic and corporate executive. He holds a Ph.D in pharmaceutical sciences. He is appointed as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, Advisor to the Health Research Theme Committee of the National Research Foundation (NRF), member of the Board of Directors for AfricaBio. He was a Project Lead for the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (dtic) commissioned study into the Development of a Biopharmaceutical Sector Plan for the Republic of South Africa. Keele played a leading role in a private-public-partnership between big pharma in South Africa, the department of science and technology (DSI), and the Medical Research Council (MRC) to enter an MoU for global commercialisation of local pharmaceutical innovations. Whilst with the UN, he was involved in efforts to position organised African pharmaceutical manufacturers to meaningfully participate in the multi-billion USD global funded markets. He has held multiple leadership roles amongst which being a President of the South African Association of Pharmacists in Industry (SAAPI), Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA) etc.
