PhD, Asistant Professor of Pharmacology

I, Assistant Professor Dr. Sinan Sermet am a citizen of The Republic of Turkey. I graduated from Maltepe Anatolian High School, Department of Science in 2001, and in 2005 from Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy (BSc in Pharmacy) (as an Honour Student), in 2008 from Marmara University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Pharmacology, Master's program with thesis (MSc in Pharmacology), and in 2022 I graduated from Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences Department of Pharmacology (PHARMACY) Doctorate Program (PhD in Pharmacology) (as an Honour Student). My foreign languages are English in advanced level (C2) and German in upper-intermediate level (B2) and French in pre-intermediate level (A2). I can use Microsoft Office programs (MS Office Word, Excell, PowerPoint etc.) well. Between 2006-2009, while doing my Master's Degree in Pharmacology, I worked in “OSEL İlaç San. ve Tic. A.Ş.”, as a Pharmacovigilance Responsible, Clinical Expert and Non-Clinical Expert, between 2009-2010 as part of my military service in the T.R. I worked as the Deputy Chief of Service of Ampoule and Solution Production Departments and property disposal officer of Ampoule Production Department at the Ministry of National Defence Pharmaceutical Plant Command (as a Pharmacist Lieutenant) and as the owner and responsible manager of Merdivenköy Pharmacy while I was doing my PhD. I handed over my pharmacy in November 2022. From September 2022 until February 2023 I taught Pharmacology in Istanbul Arel University with a paid course hour as Lecturer Dr. of Pharmacology to undergraduate level to the Nursery and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences. I had also worked as a copyeditor in Marmara University's ESCI Journal, Journal of Research in Pharmcay (JRP) from December 2022 to December 2024, and since December 2024 I have been working for the same journal as an editor of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In January 2023 I started my second Doctorate (PhD) in Molecular Oncology at Istinye University Institute of Postgraduate Education. Since February 2023, I have been working at Istinye University Faculty of Medicine Department of Clinical Sciences Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology as an Assistant Professor. I conduct researches and academic studies in the fields of diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer's disease, molecular oncology, and rational use of medicines. My research areas include Diabetes mellitus, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Molecular Oncology, and Rational Use of Medicines. I have completed and ongoing BAPKO and TÜSEB related projects in which I am a researcher. My publications have received over 60 citations so far and have an h-index of 3.
