Dr. Umut Şimşekçi is a medical doctor and clinical pharmacologist currently pursuing specialist/doctoral training in the Department of Medical Pharmacology at the Gülhane Faculty of Medicine, University of Health Sciences, Türkiye. His research interests include Alzheimer's disease, neurodegenerative disorders, inflammation, experimental pharmacology, vascular pharmacology, drug development, and translational medicine. His work focuses on pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic approaches, in vitro and in vivo experimental models, organ bath studies, cell culture, biomarker analysis, and Al-assisted drug discovery. His academic goal is to contribute to a better understanding of neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and to support the development of novel pharmacological strategies.
