Assistant professor of pharmaceutical quality assurance and regulatory affairs

My name is Yimer Mekonnen. I am a young professional passionate about learning and adapting to new challenges. I enjoy leveraging my energy and enthusiasm to tackle new tasks and experiences with a positive attitude. I excel in dynamic environments and am always eager to expand my knowledge and skill set. I completed my first degree in pharmacy in July 2013 and obtained my MSc in pharmaceutical quality assurance and regulatory affairs in November 2016. Currently, I am a PhD researcher at Ghent University, Belgium. My research interests lie in the functional quality of medicines, particularly those for neglected tropical diseases, the impacts of pharmaceutical waste on non-target organisms, and methods to address it, such as phytoremediation and adsorption to activated charcoal.
