(-)-Blebbistatin is a cell-permeable, selective inhibitor of non-muscle myosin II ATPase (IC50 approximately 2 uM) that blocks cleavage-furrow contraction without disrupting mitosis or contractile ring assembly, and does not affect myosin light chain kinase. Widely used in biological and biochemical research to study cell motility, cytokinesis, and other actin-myosin functions, it is the active enantiomer, with (+)-blebbistatin serving as its inactive counterpart; supplied from the United States.
