The SWAM Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump is an oil-sealed rotary displacement pump built around a housing, an eccentrically mounted rotor, and vanes that move radially under centrifugal and spring force between the inlet and outlet. An always-open inlet valve doubles as a vacuum safety valve. Inside the housing, the rotor and vanes divide the working chamber - bounded by the stator - into two variable-volume compartments; as the rotor turns, gas is drawn into an expanding suction chamber until a second vane seals it off, after which it is compressed until the outlet valve opens against atmospheric pressure, releasing process vapors to atmosphere.
