Adolphe Merkle Institute

Swiss research institute of the University of Fribourg, founded in 2008 with a gift from the industrialist Adolphe Merkle and devoted to soft nanomaterials. Runs research groups in polymer chemistry and materials, soft matter physics, bionanomaterials and nanoparticle toxicology, studies the interaction of nanoparticles with cells and lungs for medical and safety purposes, and trains doctoral students with the university.
