Zambian public paediatric hospital at Northrise in Ndola on the Copperbelt, which began in 1924 as a clinic for mine workers' children and became a hospital in 1933 named after the mine manager Arthur Davison. Now a third level children's hospital with about two hundred and fifty beds and an emergency department, it treats children from Ndola and the surrounding region, provides specialist paediatric services including oncology and runs a hospital pharmacy alongside teaching and research.
