Canadian national synchrotron facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus at Saskatoon, opened in 2004 and run as a not-for-profit company owned by the university. Operates a third generation synchrotron with beamlines for X-ray absorption and diffraction, macromolecular crystallography, imaging, infrared and soft X-ray spectroscopy, and provides access to academic and industrial users including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agricultural and materials researchers for protein structure determination, drug and formulation analysis and imaging.
