Chinese public university in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, whose roots go back to the Sanjiang Normal School of 1902 and which took its present name in 2001, best known for food science. Teaches and researches through its School of Food Science and Technology with the state key laboratory of food science and resources, the School of Biotechnology with industrial fermentation and enzyme engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical and material engineering and medicine, and works closely with the food, fermentation and pharmaceutical industries on fermentation processes, enzymes, functional ingredients and drug development.
