Chinese public university in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, founded in Nanjing in 1906 and the oldest university established for overseas Chinese students, with further campuses at Zhuhai and Shenzhen. Runs a College of Pharmacy and a School of Medicine with departments of pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry and traditional Chinese medicine and affiliated hospitals including the First Affiliated Hospital, and conducts research in natural product chemistry, drug discovery, biopharmaceuticals and food and drug safety.
