American public university in Greenwood, South Carolina, founded in 1872 as Williamston Female College and renamed after its founder Samuel Lander. Teaches undergraduate and master's programmes across nursing, biology, chemistry, exercise science, psychology, education, business and the arts, with pre-pharmacy and pre-medical preparation and laboratory science teaching, and works with regional hospitals on clinical placements for its nursing students.
