American private university at Macon in Georgia with further campuses at Atlanta and Savannah, founded in 1833 by Baptists and now independent. Teaches pharmacy through its College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, together with medicine, nursing, health professions, engineering and the liberal arts, works with Georgia hospitals for clinical teaching, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, drug delivery and health outcomes.
