Northern Institute for Cancer Research

Cancer research institute of Newcastle University in the north east of England, formed in 2008 out of earlier cancer research units and since brought within the Newcastle University Centre for Cancer. Runs drug discovery programmes in medicinal chemistry that produced DNA repair and cell cycle inhibitors including work behind the first PARP inhibitors, studies childhood leukaemia and solid tumours, and works with the Newcastle hospitals on early phase clinical trials.
