Italian public technical university in Turin, Piedmont, founded in 1859 as a technical school for engineers and constituted as a polytechnic in 1906. Teaches engineering and architecture with departments of applied science and technology covering chemistry and materials, electronics and telecommunications, mechanical and aerospace engineering and biomedical engineering, and carries out research in biomaterials and tissue engineering, drug delivery and nanomedicine, medical devices and instrumentation, process chemistry and polymers, with its own laboratories and industry partnerships.
