Rottapharm

Italian pharmaceutical group founded at Monza in Lombardy in 1961 by the Rovati family, which grew from research on natural substances for joint disease into a European company with prescription medicines, consumer health products and herbal preparations. Bought the German company Madaus in 2007, sold its pharmaceutical business to Meda in 2014 and kept its research arm as Rottapharm Biotech, which continues drug discovery at Monza.
