Egyptian public university in Sohag in Upper Egypt, which began as a branch of Assiut University and became independent in 2006. Teaches through faculties of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine, science with chemistry and biology, and agriculture alongside engineering, law, education and the humanities, runs the Sohag university hospitals for clinical teaching, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, natural products and biomedical sciences with its own laboratories.
