Swiss agricultural science company with its head office at Basel, formed in 2000 from the crop protection and seeds businesses of Novartis and AstraZeneca and owned since 2017 by Sinochem, now part of the Syngenta Group. Discovers, makes and sells crop protection chemicals, seeds and traits and biological products, runs research centres and formulation and active ingredient plants around the world, and works on chemistry, formulation and regulatory science close to that of the pharmaceutical industry.
