American veterinary teaching hospital at Davis in California, run by the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and one of the largest veterinary hospitals in the world, seeing companion animals, horses, livestock, birds and exotic species. Provides primary and referral care across internal medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, neurology, anaesthesia and emergency and critical care, runs its own veterinary pharmacy, clinical pathology and diagnostic laboratories and a clinical trials programme testing new veterinary medicines, and trains veterinary students and residents.
