Brazilian federal university at Goiânia in Goiás state, founded in 1960 by bringing together the existing faculties of the city, with further campuses at Catalão and Jataí before those became separate universities. Teaches pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, nutrition, veterinary medicine, chemistry and biological sciences alongside engineering, law and the humanities, runs its own clinical hospital and veterinary hospital, and carries out research in pharmacology and toxicology, natural products, food science and public health with its own laboratories.
