French public university south of Paris centred on Orsay in Essonne, founded in 1971 out of the science faculty of the University of Paris and merged into Université Paris-Saclay in 2020. Its Faculty of Pharmacy at Châtenay-Malabry, later moved to Orsay, taught the pharmacy degree with departments of pharmaceutical chemistry, galenic pharmacy and biopharmacy, pharmacognosy, pharmacology and toxicology, and the university ran faculties of medicine at Le Kremlin-Bicêtre and of sciences with research units in drug delivery, medicinal chemistry and biophysics and the Institut Galien for pharmaceutical research.
