Canadian public French language university in Montreal, Quebec, founded in 1878 as a branch of Université Laval and independent since 1919, one of the country's largest research universities with its affiliated engineering and business schools. Teaches through its Faculty of Pharmacy, one of the oldest in Canada, together with faculties of medicine, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine at Saint-Hyacinthe and arts and sciences with chemistry and biochemistry, works with the CHUM and Sainte-Justine hospitals, and carries out research in drug discovery and delivery, pharmacoepidemiology and clinical pharmacology.
