Indian deemed to be university in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, founded in 1984 as the Vellore Engineering College and granted deemed university status in 2001, with further campuses at Chennai, Amaravati and Bhopal. Teaches engineering and technology, computer science, sciences, biosciences and biotechnology, management, law and social sciences, and its schools of advanced sciences and bio sciences and technology run chemistry, biotechnology and biomedical research relevant to drug discovery and pharmaceutical analysis.
