GSK has entered into a deal with Hutchmed to acquire rights to its first oncology candidate, the KRAS‑EGFR antibody‑drug conjugate HMPL‑A830.
The agreement includes an upfront payment of $110 million and a potential total value of up to $1.295 billion.
HMPL‑A830 is currently in preclinical development and is planned to start clinical trials in the second half of this year.
Under the contract, GSK will have the exclusive right to develop and commercialise the therapy worldwide, except in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
The molecule is designed to deliver a KRAS inhibitor directly to tumors that express EGFR, combining KRAS pathway inhibition with EGFR targeting.
