Joshua James Milligan was born in Voorhees, NJ on July 14th, 1997. In May 2019, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical and Health Sciences Engineering. He attended Duke University in August 2019 to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering under the mentorship of Prof. Ashutosh Chilkoti. He presented his work through posters and presentations at multiple conferences, including earning a poster award at the 2024 Duke Cell and Molecular Biology Novel Cancer Therapeutics Symposium. He is the lead or a contributing author—or an inventor–on nine publications and three provisional patents.
