Dr Julie DAM has expertise in pharmacology and biochemistry of membrane receptors, with particular interest on cytokine receptors and G Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCR), receptor pharmacology and signaling, and their involvement in metabolic disorders (Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes). Along with Dr Ralf JOCKERS, she co-directs the team "Functional Pharmacology and Pathophysiology of Membrane Receptors” located at the Cochin Institute, Paris. The research undertaken by Dr Julie Dam uses a combination of biochemical, pharmacological, primary cell culture, genetic, and physiological approaches to study how membrane receptors and their signaling regulate the cell function, and in determining their importance in metabolic disorders. Her research is oriented towards the identification of new drug targets and development of innovate therapeutic solutions.
