I am a Tenure Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at Kaduna State University, Nigeria. I hold an M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where I graduated as the second-best student in my class (Second Class Upper, Rank 2/18). In addition, I earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the same institution. As a highly ambitious pharmaceutical and Medicinal chemist, I have a strong passion for becoming an expert in Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery. My primary research interest lies in harnessing medicinal plants to develop novel, effective, and safe drugs, particularly for managing chronic disorders and combating the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance. Specifically, I am interested in the isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds, enzyme inhibition studies (e.g., α-glucosidase), and the exploration of natural products as multi-target protein kinase inhibitors. Furthermore, I actively conduct in silico studies to support these efforts. My contributions are documented in several peer-reviewed publications, including articles in Q1 journals such as Molecules, where I reported on bioactive compounds from Ampelocissus africanus and Acacia auriculiformis. I have also published review articles on endoplasmic reticulum stress in Type II diabetes and diabesity. In addition to my publications, I have presented my work at both national and international conferences, including the ABU SPGS Biennial International Conference (Nigeria) and the West African Society of Pharmacology International Conference. Beyond research, I am deeply committed to community service. Since 2017 to date, I have tutored and guided over 100 high school students in my community, helping them gain admission into various higher education institutions. Moreover, I am a recipient of several prestigious awards, such as the Doctoral Russian Government Scholarship (2024), the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Institutional Based Research Grant (2018), and a Doctoral Scholarship in Indonesia through the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB, 2025). Additionally, I hold professional memberships with the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), the Asian Chemical Society (ACSoc.), and the Society for Medicinal Plants and Economic Development (SOMPED).
