Currently, a postgraduate research assistant at the Parasitology Department of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research with 8+ years of working experience and an educational background in basic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Clinical Microbiology and Drug discovery. Technical experience includes Cell culture (Cancerous and Mammalian), parasite culture (Malaria, Cryptosporidium, Trypanosomiasis, Leishmaniasis and Trichomonas mobilensis), Real time Polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) & Restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) genotyping. I enjoy teaching, organizing and building capacity in areas of biomedical research particularly in Natural products drug discovery of Neglected tropical Diseases and public engagement of the general community on pertinent health issues through fun-filled activities that focus on wider determinants of public health importance. I am a proud beneficiary of the Wellcome Centre for the Anti-infectives training program (2019 to 2020) tailored towards in-depth Drug Discovery training of selected Researchers from countries endemic with diseases of global health relevance as a form of Capacity Building in disease endemic countries across the Globe. Through my rigorous training in many disciplines of Drug discovery (Biology, Basic Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK), I have been exposed to an international level of research which will greatly improve and influence my scope of thinking positively. As a young upcoming Scientist, I am interested in prospects tailored towards research development, collaborations, capacity building and novelty in innovations that could lead to positive impacts in the world of Science both locally and globally. My current research focus areas are on Drug Discovery and Molecular Epidemiology research into NTDs.
