Cholesterol Esterase (COE, CAS 9026-00-0, EC 3.1.1.13) is a pharmaceutical-grade enzyme manufactured directly by Ningbo Linzyme Biosciences Co., Ltd. to in-house standards, catalyzing the hydrolysis of cholesterol esters into free cholesterol and fatty acids. Used together with cholesterol oxidase to determine total cholesterol in plasma for cardiovascular disease diagnostics, it is supplied as a white-to-light-brown lyophilized powder with activity of at least 50 U/mg and catalase contamination below 0.01%, and is distributed across Western and Eastern Europe and Asia.
