L-Serine (CAS 56-45-1) is a food-grade, non-essential amino acid manufactured directly by Shaanxi Yuantai Biological Technology Co., Ltd (YTBIO). It plays roles in fat and fatty acid metabolism, muscle growth, and immunoglobulin production, and serves as a precursor to glycine, cysteine, and other metabolites including sphingolipids and folate; it is also a structural component in the active sites of enzymes such as chymotrypsin and trypsin. Commercially, it is used in compound amino acid infusions and nutritional supplements as well as sports and amino-acid diet drinks, tested to in-house standards and sold across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australasia.
