My biography Dr. Mustafa Rahim Abro DVM, PhD in Toxicology | Veterinary Officer, Livestock Department Balochistan | Food Safety & Forensic Toxicology Specialist, Dr. Mustafa Rahim Abro is a veterinarian and toxicologist from Quetta, Balochistan, with expertise in food safety, forensic toxicology, and public health. He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and a PhD in Nutrition & Toxicology, focusing on contaminants in the food chain. He has served as a Food Safety Officer with the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA), where he conducted field inspections, collected legal samples, and enforced food safety standards under the Balochistan Food Authority Act 2014. His work included testing and enforcement related to Aflatoxin M1 contamination in milk and other food hazards. Currently, Dr. Abro is working as a Veterinary Officer in the Livestock Department, Government of Balochistan, where he is involved in animal health, disease control, and veterinary public health programs. He is also applying for the position of Director General, Balochistan Forensic Science Agency. His background in Forensic Toxicology, veterinary diagnostics, and food safety positions him to contribute to the establishment and development of forensic laboratory services in Balochistan. His professional interests include: Forensic Toxicology and chemical analysis of food contaminants, Food safety regulation and enforcement, Veterinary public health and zoonotic disease control, Establishment of GACC-compliant quarantine and export facilities for animals, Dr. Abro is committed to using scientific evidence and regulatory frameworks to improve public health, animal health, and food safety in Balochistan.
