I have over 30 years of experience in basic biomedical research, drug discovery and drug development. During the last 20 years I have founded & led many small molecule and biologics drug discovery and drug development programs from inception through clinical proof of concept. In this role, I have gained the expertise and leadership skills necessary to successfully carry out complex research and clinical development projects such as this proposal. At Bristol-Myers, I co-led immunology and oncology programs on the discovery, mechanism of action, translation and clinical development of several drugs including Taxol, Orencia, TGF-beta, and deoxyspergualin. At Serono, I headed the departments of Experimental Therapeutics/Lead Discovery and was WW Project Leader of an interferon receptor biologics program which I helped advance from inception to clinical phase IIa. At Serono, I participated in many drug discovery and clinical development projects which involved transitioning early drug leads to the clinic and reaching clinical POC. From 2009-2019 as founder & Chief Scientific Officer at Corbus Pharmaceuticals I advanced a novel non-psychotropic CB2 agonist from discovery through phase 3 clinical trials in systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, and cystic fibrosis. As President of Corbus, I managed all R&D functions from discovery, medchem, CMC, pharmacology, toxicology, DMPK, human pharmacology, regulatory and clinical. My background prepared me well to leverage my scientific and management expertise to successfully execute this project. As CEO of EuMentis Therapeutics, I manage all functions of the company, hire top talent, build the corporate strategy and culture, fundraise, and assure that all corporate goals are met in a timely and capital efficient manner.
