A Professor of Biomedical Sciences who is also an HCPC registered specialist Biomedical Scientist who has worked in many Pathology laboratories in four different countries. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK) and a Consultant Biomedical Scientist for the High Care Laboratories in Namibia. My interests are in Blood Sciences and Immunology. My first university qualification was in Medical Laboratory Technology at the University of Zimbabwe after which I then obtained a specialist diploma in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science. I later obtained an MSc in Biomedical Science. After studying Biomedical Science at Anglia Ruskin University, I pursued a PhD in Health at the University of Bath where I focused on Hepcidin and its utility in Iron deficiency anaemia. I am a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at NUST and I worked as a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences and a programme Leader in Applied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Greenwich (UK). Prior to joining the university, I was working as Head of Health Science Department and Senior Lecturer at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). My academic career started in 2011 at the London Metropolitan University where I was working as a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences. At London Metropolitan University, I was also the programme leader for the MSc Blood Sciences and the course leader for the undergraduate Clinical Biochemistry and the Blood Transfusion Science modules.
