Postdoctoral Scholar

I am a fourth-year postdoctoral Fellow at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. My research focuses on understanding epigenetic processes employing chemical genetic approaches and to drug them for clinical success. I earned my Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in the University of Mississippi where I developed natural product-inspired complex small molecules for treating various diseases. Before that I earned my Master's in discovering bioactive natural products from endophytic fungi and medicinal plants. I am enthusiastic to learn new chemical genetic tools and techniques to unravel complex epigenetic mechanisms of cancers, develop new phenotypic and genomic high-throughput screening to discover hit, hit to lead optimization and lead validation, and pursue medicinal chemistry campaigns to develop therapeutics. My long-term career goal is to establish an independent, NIH-funded research program focused on developing small-molecule therapeutics targeting oncogenic transcription factors and epigenetic regulators in treating cancers.
