Mohammad Abuzar Shaikh Umer is an early-career pharmaceutical researcher and academician with a passion for advancing drug discovery through innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at AIKTC School of Pharmacy, Navi Mumbai, he brings experience from academia, research, and industry, integrating computational tools, AI, and data-driven strategies into pharmaceutical development. Prof. Abuzar holds an M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance from Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Pune. His professional journey includes impactful roles such as Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma, where he specialized in medical and scientific writing, publication planning, and leveraging real-world evidence for strategic healthcare insights. He has also worked with Macleods Pharmaceuticals in Quality Assurance, gaining hands-on exposure to GMP, SOPs, and regulatory practices. His research interests span computational drug discovery, AI/ML in pharmaceutical R&D, and regulatory science. He has presented at international conferences and contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including journals indexed in SCIE and Springer Nature, with work focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, psoriasis, and multidrug resistance. Abuzar has also authored a book chapter on systems biology for autoimmune diseases. He actively engages in continuous learning, with certifications in data analytics (IBM), clinical data management (Vanderbilt University), pharmacovigilance, and regulatory affairs. Driven by a commitment to scientific excellence and education, Prof. Abuzar aspires to contribute to transformative healthcare solutions that bridge science, technology, and patient needs.
