Pharmacist

Dr Nicholas Keetile was born and raised in Ganyesa village in the Western region of the North West province, South Africa. He started school at the Anglican mission school in 1976 and continued his higher standards in Thaba Nchu (Free State province) achieving first class results in practically all the standards and the best matriculant in 1989. Dr Keetile commenced his tertiary education in 1991 at the then University of the North (now University of Limpopo) where he enrolled for a Bachelor of Pharmacy and passed his first year at a sufficiently high standard. After dropping out of University in 1992 he attempted a string of qualifications. He achieved his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree after practically 20 years from first registration. Additionally, he now holds a Master of Science degree in Pharmacy, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in clinical pharmacology focusing on the cognitive effects of cytotoxic drugs in breast cancer patients and he is currently pursuing a second PhD in clinical pharmacy with the aim to discover treatment for chemotherapy related cognitive impairment (Chemobrain). Dr Keetile has a special interest in cancer treatment and he is a fervent lover of neuro-pharmacology research. He participated in a two-part Delphi study on the handling of cytotoxic drugs in Low-and-middle-income countries conducted under the auspices of the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Dr Keetile has the following affiliations; International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners (ISOPP); South Africa Society of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (SASBCP); South African Society of Oncology Pharmacy (SASoPH) and European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and he has a string of clinical presentations.
