Lecturer

Tan Thanh Mai is a lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His teaching and research focus on Medicinal Chemistry, with a particular emphasis on Drug Discovery and Development. His research interests center on the application of cheminformatics to the early stages of drug discovery, including target identification and validation, virtual screening, hit-to-lead discovery, and lead optimization. He has experience in employing computer-aided drug design (CADD) techniques such as QSAR modeling, pharmacophore modeling, similarity searches, docking, and molecular dynamics simulations to support virtual screening workflows. His ultimate goal is to identify promising drug candidates through computational drug discovery (in silico) and validate their efficacy through biological assays (in vitro and in vivo).
