Bio

My major scientific achievements lie in the development of functional polymer nanoparticles with dynamic and responsive properties. I focus on the combination of molecular and structural design to achieve complex functions tailored to a specific application. Starting from rational design of molecular units, I develop well-defined polymeric architectures and control their (self-)assembly into functional nanoparticles. Due to my translation of concepts across disciplines, I am recognized for my contributions to the fields of polymer chemistry, drug delivery, colloidal chemistry, interfacial physics, and self-assembly.
