Felicity N. E. Gavins is a Royal Society Wolfson Fellow and Professor of Pharmacology at Brunel University of London, where she directs the Centre for Inflammation Research hand Translational Medicine (CIRTM). Internationally recognised for her work in neutrophil biology, inflammation resolution, and vascular immunopathology, her research focuses on how immune cell plasticity contributes to thrombosis and inflammation. Her laboratory integrates high-resolution and high-content approaches, including intravital microscopy, human microfluidic vessel-on-chip models, single-cell-omics, and AI to identify therapeutic targets for inflammation. A key focus of her work is resolution pharmacology, using targeted therapies to reprogram immune function and restore immune-vascular homeostasis without triggering immunosuppression. Professor Gavins is an Honorary Fellow the British Pharmacological Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, reflecting sustained excellence in research leadership, education, and international impact. She has held academic positions in both the UK and USA and has secured major funding from the NIH, BHF, Royal Society, MRC, and industry partners. She remains actively engaged with national and international advisory bodies, including the NIH, MRC, NC3Rs, and the British Pharmacological Society, helping shape future policy and strategy in inflammation science, translational medicine, and the development of advanced non-animal methodologies.
