I hold an MD and a specialty degree in Pulmonology from the University of Rome. My academic background includes a diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine in Basel, and a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the Theological University of Northern Italy. After two years of service as a Medical Officer in the Italian Navy, I transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, where I spent over 35 years—primarily focusing on drug safety. During this time, I taught Pharmacovigilance at the University of Ferrara and held various senior roles in both large and small pharmaceutical companies, working on innovative therapies, orphan drugs, and biosimilars across clinical development and post-marketing phases. Since retiring on January 1st, 2025, I’ve been delighted to continue contributing to academic life as a lecturer and guest speaker.
