PhD Jovana Francuz is an accomplished Full Professor at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Science, within the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Environmental Protection. With a diverse academic background and extensive research experience, she contributes significantly to both teaching and scientific endeavors. Teaching Contributions: As a professor at the faculty, Dr. Francuz imparts knowledge across various subjects at all levels of study: Medicinal Chemistry, Selected Topics of Medicinal Chemistry, Stereochemistry of Monosaccharides, Glycobiology, Molecules significant for medicine, Biochemistry of narcotic drugs, Biochemistry in health and disease. Academic Mentorship: Dr. Francuz has actively guided numerous graduate and master’s students in their research endeavors, serving as a mentor. Her commitment to nurturing young talent extends beyond the university setting. Educational Outreach: Since 2020, she has been dedicated to teaching chemistry to specially gifted students at the Jovan Jovanović - Zmaj High School. Scientific Endeavors: Dr. Francuz actively engages in scientific research, as evidenced by her 22 scientific publications in top scientific journals (M20 category). Science Advocacy: Dr. Francuz has been a driving force in promoting science through various activities. Since 2013, she has collaborated with her colleagues Dr. Sanja Belić and Dr. Marija Lesjak on improving scientific awareness and popularizing science, especially among the younger population.
