Dr. Krathish Bopanna is a clinical pharmacologist, consultant, and scientific writer with nearly thirty years of experience spanning pharmaceutical R&D, clinical trials, and nutraceutical innovation. He is the Managing Partner of Tejhana Consulting LLP, Bengaluru, India, through which he advises on pharmacology, regulatory science, drug safety, and scientific communications. He has held senior leadership roles including CEO of Semler Research Center, Senior Vice President at Manipal Acunova, and President of the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR), contributing to the advancement of India’s clinical research ecosystem. Dr. Bopanna’s research is strongly oriented toward nutraceutical bioavailability, pharmacokinetics, and translational pharmacology. His work has involved comparative pharmacokinetic studies of diverse Coenzyme Q10 formulations (crystalline, liposomal, phospholipid complex, water-dispersible powders, and soft gels), lutein–zeaxanthin delivery systems (granules, beadlets, and liposomal powders), and novel anti-inflammatory combinations, such as Curcumin + Thymoquinone complexes (CTQ/CurQnone). He has also contributed to studies on palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), carotenoids, and functional food bioactives, focusing on their effects on inflammation, oxidative stress, and cardiovascular health. His research approach combines preclinical models (rat pharmacokinetics, cell-based inflammatory assays) with advanced analytical techniques (LC–MS/MS, HPLC, bioanalytical method validation) to generate robust data on absorption, distribution, metabolism, and efficacy. These studies have produced insights into formulation-dependent differences in bioavailability and therapeutic potential, with direct implications for nutraceutical product development and evidence-based clinical nutrition.
