Bio

Dr. Padilla received a BA degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and her PharmD degree from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She completed her residency in primary care with the University of Texas at Austin/Blackstock Family Practice. She currently works as a Clinical Professor with The University of Texas at El Paso School of Pharmacy. Dr. Padilla began her service to medically underserved populations almost 16 years ago. She has been recognized for her accomplishments in advancing disease state management and medication therapy management in a community health care setting serving a primarily Spanish-speaking lower-income population. She helps manage the medication needs of her patients and serves as drug consultant for the providers. She has also mentored students and community pharmacy residents. Her current research includes vaccine uptake/acceptance, transitions of care, interprofessional education, co-curriculum, and chronic disease management.
